Prayer is Relationship Building

One day this week, I can’t remember the exact date, sorry. I was listening to the radio, K-Love, and there was discussion on communicating with God. The point was made that if you ignore your prayer life, it will impact your relationship with God just like it does with your spouse or friends. Think about it.

It is no different than the “quality time” that married couples in today’s world have to set an appointment for. Without this imposed pause, relationships suffer and conversations remain on a surface level and issues/thoughts that need attention are ignored. But with effective commuication, each person is heard and clarity and understanding is achieved.  Prayer is communication. It is a pause that we take to show thanks, share our thoughts/desires and seek guidance. If our prayer life is consistent, we began to know the voice of God, to clearly see him moving in our lives and better recognize how and when he has answered our prayers. The relationship grows stronger because there is communication.

Truth:

Phillipians 4:6  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Romans 12: 12  Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

  2. I solely agree with you. Spending time in prayer is essential, but hearing what God has to say to us is the way we walk in truth. Be blessed and continue to let God lead you through every phase of your life.
